Week Extra Curricular Description
6/12 – 6/16 Let’s Travel Through Europe! Time to get your passport and take an adventure to Europe. Students will enjoy learning about the geography and culture through a variety of activities. They will learn about holidays, famous people, clothing, animals, sports, food, language and so much more! Your student will learn to appreciate the diversity of traditions of peoples of other continent.
6/19 – 6/23 Theater – James and the Giant Peach! Theater is always so much fun. Join us for a fun filled week of theater! “James and the Giant Peach” from the author of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, the story of a little boy who goes on a magical adventure in a giant peach with some big buggy friends. Taught by Acting For Young People! Your student will learn to audition for theater roles, s/he will learn acting and singing skills in addition to communication and social skills.
6/26 – 6/30 Toy Design Camp! Design and engineer your toys to create a fantasy play land. Using large cardboard and other objects, join other campers to create amazing toys, cars, planes and playhouses. Your child’s creations are limited only by their imagination. Your student will learn about planning, design, story-telling, crafting, decorating, drawing, presentation, etc.
7/03 – 7/07 May The Force Be With You! Come to a galaxy far, far away and learn the mysterious ways of the force! In one exciting week, campers enroll in our Jedi Academy where they will engage in STEM based force and motion experiments to foster exploration and inquiry.
7/10 – 7/14 Reach For the Sky Learn about the atmosphere around us, energy and air movement with STEM challenges.
7/17 – 7/21 Harry Potter Wizard All aboard the Hogwarts Express! Get ready for a magical week of wizard, sorcery and all things Harry Potter! During this magical week, your little chemists will engage in hands on STEM challenges based on the book, “Harry Potter &The Sorcerer’s Stone.”
7/24 – 7/28 Theater – The Dark Portal More lights, camera, and action! For all the Harry Potter fans, a diverse group of magic students must find their inner strength to stop an evil wizard. Taught by Acting For Young People.
7/31 – 8/4 Movie Theater Camp Lights! Camera! Action! Movie Theater Camp. Campers write, act, shoot, direct and edit their own short film. Camp culminates with a screening and “Oscars Award Show” on Friday afternoon. Join us on the red carpet and bring out your inner movie star!
8/7 – 8/11 Redskins All Stars Break out your foam finger and your 12th man jersey while we celebrate our Home State sport stars! Get ready to cheer on the Redskins when painting special masks with some of our favorite colors. Sports fanatics come and checkout this artistic week all about your favorite team
8/14 – 8/18 Elementary Economics Students will learn the basics of economics through this fun interactive course! They will be introduced to engaging activities where they will explore personal finances, the free enterprise system, and entrepreneurs at work!
